State-of-the-art watch to boost Parkinson's care
The wristwatch records the frequency and severity of the involuntary or slow movements using sensors. The information is stored on specially developed software capable of distinguishing between normal, abnormal and slow movement.
The data can be downloaded overnight and sent to the patient's doctor, who is able to compare the information with the timing and dosage of the patient's medication. Currently, neurologists can only check dosage and timing during consultations, which can be up to two months apart.
